It's Square 1 Art Time!!
Do you have a student in kindergarten, 2nd, 4th, or 6th grade? If so, they have been working hard with our amazing art teachers to create something awesome for our Square 1 Art Fundraiser! Square 1 Art takes your child's artwork, and turns it into really cool keepsakes, like tote bags, magnets, luggage tags and coffee mugs. Order forms will be coming home with your child soon! Orders must be placed online at square1art.com. The deadline to order is April 4th, 2025.
If you have a 1st, 3rd, or 5th grader, your child can create something awesome (or use something already created) to submit as well! Please visit square1art.com for tips and suggestions. Upload artwork and order by April 4th, 2025.
Silverbrook benefits from every order placed. These items make great gifts for parents, grandparents, and relatives. Get a head start on Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts!

Silverbrook’s Proud Marathoner
Our strings teacher Mr. Mondoloka, ran his first Virginia 26.2-mile marathon last weekend. We share in his joy of accomplishment.
Eid al-Fitr, also known as small Eid, marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting, and is celebrated during the first three days of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic calendar. Muslims congregate that morning for Eid prayers. It is a time of official receptions and private visits, when friends greet one another, presents are given, new clothes are worn, and the graves of relatives are visited. The most common way to wish someone a Happy Eid al-Fitr is Eid Mubarak, which means “blessed feast” (or festival)
Student Intentions for 2025-26 School YearAlthough we want to keep all of our Seahawks for the coming year, we understand that some families may transition. Please access this intention form to let us know if your student is staying or transitioning from Silverbrook.
School Start Times SurveyLast year, FCPS held community forums and surveyed middle school families regarding middle school start times. Now, we would like to hear from all staff and families on the possibility of adjusting school start times across the division. The goal remains to begin middle school at 8 a.m. or later at the start of the 2026-27 school year.
On April 1, a survey link will be sent by email to staff, parents/caregivers, and students in grades 5-12. The confidential survey will be open for two weeks and will be available in multiple languages.
Save the Date: Community Conversations with Superintendent Dr. Michelle ReidYour voice matters, and Superintendent Reid wants to hear from you!
